What battery fits my vintage Vespa or Lambretta?

Although there are more and more AC/Electronic conversions going on everyday, many restored and original condition scooters have their original electrical systems that require batteries.  We stock all the batteries you need for your vintage Vespa or Lambretta and the following description will help you work out which battery you need


1950's,1960's and 1970's Models: VL3 / VB1 / VNA / VNB / GTR / Super / Sprint / GL150 / Vespa 90 / Vespa Primavera all use the B39-6 Battery

1960's Models: GS160 and SS180 use the B49-6 Battery

1970's Models: Rally 180 / Rally 200 use the B49-6 Battery

1980s Vespa 100 Sport / P125X / P150X and P200E all use the 12N5-3B battery

1985 and onwards on electric start models like PX150E, PX200E, EFL, MY and also the Stella use the 12N9-3B



D / LD Models: B39-6

Series 1 / Series 2 Models: B39-6

Series 3 / GP / DL Models: 6N11A-1B

Serveta w/ 7cm Battery Tray: 6N11A-1B




* Many US models of Vespa were imported with a simplified AC system that does not require a battery. Many of these models have also been imported from Europe in the ensuing years with their original DC systems and these will need a battery to make sure the horn (at the least) works, unless the system is converted to AC
